Purpose PRIDE focuses on student success and growth within the total school environment. Therefore, counselors at SMSD are committed to providing:
- A curriculum that facilitates students' academic, career, personal, and social success;
- Planning that meets the individual, unique, and age-appropriate needs of all students;
- Systems of support such as parent education, distribution of school-related information within the community, enhanced communication with students and parents, referral services, and coordination of the student assessment process; and
- Responsive services will be offered as needed.
