The state's Student Assessment Calendar outlines the test schedule for the 2006-07 school year. The grades and subjects specified are in accordance with Texas Educatioin Code (TEC) 39.023. These dates were chosen to minimize conflicts with religious, state, or national holidays and nationally scheduled examinations such as the Scholastic Achievement Tests (SAT), the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), and the American College Testing (ACT) program.
