Mrs. Tony Forbes-Deese is a native Houstonian educated in the Houston Independent School District where she graduated from the High School for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice.  In her junior year of high school she joined the United States Army Reserves.  She was only seventeen years old.  By the time she began her freshman year at Prairie View A&M University, the oldest Historical Black College in Texas, she had served two years in the Army Reserves.

She was a focused young lady while attending Prairie View A&M she majored in Psychology and was very involved in campus activities including serving in the student government as the Student Government Association Vice President of Student Activities.  While in her senior year she was recruited by Texas A&M to participate in a joint Counseling Masters degree program between Texas A&M and Prairie View A&M.  By the age of 24 she had earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Master of Arts in Counseling, and had served seven years in the Army Reserves.

After working in several areas in the field of counseling she decided to return to school and become certified secondary teacher and counselor.  She taught Reading for special educated students in the middle school setting for five years.  She was very involved in the campus activities including coaching the cheerleading, track, and basketball teams as well as sponsoring the DC club and student council.

Mrs. Forbes-Deese is currently the Lead Counselor at Stafford High School where she services 9th grade students.  However she feels a special connection with all Stafford High students.  She is still very active on campus and always has an open door policy.

She retired her commission after twelve years of service in the United States Army Reserves.  She is married to a Houston Police Officer, Kevin Deese, and has two beautiful children Kaylyn (14) and Kendle (6).  The family’s passion is traveling to different states to ride the fast and the best roller coasters the state has to offer.

Ms. Angela Svetlik grew up in the small central Texas town of Smithville, whose claim to fame is having been the setting for the 1998 film “Hope Floats” starring Sandra Bullock.  After graduating from Smithville High, she attended Southwest Texas State University, (now known as Texas State) in San Marcos.

While at Southwest Texas, Ms. Svetlik earned her Bachelor of Science in Family & Consumer Sciences, with a minor in Early Childhood Intervention.  Upon graduation and a short job search, she decided to go on and get her teaching certificate, because she couldn’t decide which field within the FCS discipline she wanted to commit herself to.  And knowing she eventually wanted to go into the counseling field, which requires 3 years teaching experience in a school setting, this was the most logical solution.

Upon receiving her post-graduate teaching certificate, she relocated to Stafford in 2002 to begin teaching Family & Consumer Science at the Middle School, where she taught for 2 years before moving literally right next door to begin teaching the High School FCS classes in 2004.  While in the classroom Ms. Svetlik was active in a number of campus activities, including being the advisor for Student Council and FCCLA as well as 3 Regional FCCLA officers, one of which was went on to be a state officer in her senior year.  In January of 2006 she accepted a position as a counselor at Stafford High School, where she is currently the 10th grade counselor and counselor for the Seniors J-Z.
