The SMSD Education Foundation was founded in 2004 to create a partnership of educators, businesses, community members, parents, and civic leaders to assist in meeting the ever-increasing demands of providing a high quality education. The Foundation is a tax-exempt organization established to secure financial support and other resources for SMSD academic programs. Its purpose is to promote the SMSD mission of "producing individuals armed with academic and technological proficiency and strong values who function as contributing members of society".
Donations are welcome from individuals and corporate sponsors. Gifts are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. SMSD Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organizatin. Build the Bridge Breakfast
The Stafford MSD Education Foundation and the City of Stafford hosted their first Build the Bridge Breakfast February 26, 2008, to bring together the school, city, and businesses. Ten students from the district spoke to the audience on their future aspirations and invited the businesses to support the foundation. Foundation President, Cindy Hoelscher, presented the first Bridge Builder award to Kathy Ratcliff for her late husband James Noel Ratcliff. Mr. Ratcliff had served SMSD as a teacher, coach, parent, and school board trustee.
